What’s your favorite quote?
Well obviously, “bloom where you’re planted” is a quote or saying that I hold dear.
I also love the one about…I can’t remember it exactly…planting trees…providing shade, something like that. Wait, I’ll look it up.
It’s by Nelson Henderson who is actually from the same hometown as I am from, “the true meaning of life is to plant trees under whose shade you do not expect to sit”.
As in, do nice things for others, not expecting anything in return.
In other news, I’ve been absent from WP for the last couple of days and I missed all of you. Those last 48 hours leading up to the election had me…otherwise occupied.
It’s a weird feeling, being so anxious and not able to concentrate on anything at all. Like a ball of yarn someone has kicked across the floor and is unraveling bit by bit lol.
Anyway, the vote counting took forever last night, despite the electronic vote counting machines, but I’m happy to say that I did get a seat on council!
There were 13 of us running to try and secure 1 of the 8 seats on council. I got the 5th highest number of votes, just behind the 4 incumbents, so I actually did really well.
It’s still sinking in, to be honest. But usual life carries on today and I’m thankful for that.
