Two eyes

Do you write your posts on a phone, tablet, or a computer? And why?

I almost exclusively write my posts on my laptop. I think in the two and a half years that I’ve existed on WP, I’ve made a post on my phone maybe twice and that was because I was on vacation.

For some reason I prefer to use my phone for reading others’ posts. No, not for some reason, it’s because of my eyesight.

When I’m on my laptop I need my glasses on but if I’m on my phone I have to take them off. And for some reason I feel like I can see better with them off and looking up close at something. Well no, not for some reason, it’s because I’m near sighted.

It’s the same reason I watch tv on my phone instead of on a tv. My daughter Bella-Lena always bugs me when she sees me doing this and she’ll say Mom why aren’t you watching your show on tv??

Watching tv means wearing my glasses plus there’s all of the distractions in my periphery.

Remember way back when if you had to wear glasses as a kid, the other kids would tease you and call you four eyes? I don’t think that’s still a thing.

Also, I think it’s time for progressive lenses and I really hate to admit that.

Ahhh, Saturday mornings in bed πŸ™‚

  1. We were just telling our son about how bad the bullying used to be in the 80s. Some things are definitely better now.

  2. Thank you! I watch my shows on my phone, too while sitting in the living room in front of a turned off tv. I’m glad I’m not the only one.

  3. I can definitely relate to this. I do most of my reading on my phone too because it just feels more comfortable on my eyes, even when bigger screens are available. Your story about being called β€œfour eyes” brought back memories of how different wearing glasses felt when I were younger. I used to have to use reading glasses and I feel soon I will need them more often. It’s funny how our relationship with our eyesight changes over time. I’m not excited about the idea of progressive lenses either, but I guess it’s just another part of growing and adapting.

  5. Once you come over to the progressive lenses dark side, you’ll never look back! The progressive lenses made me feel old for about five minutes; after that, I was just happy that I could read things again.

      1. That’s less of a problem than you would think. Basically, the optician said β€œturn your head towards the thing you want to look at.” Honestly that seems like pretty good advice for life, with or without progressive lenses.

      2. Lol as opposed to, turn your head away from the thing you want to look at?! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

      3. Or giving things the side-eye, I guess. The side-eye could be sexy under certain circumstances, I guess, but it’s counter-indicated after a certain age.

  6. I have TV glasses, progressives, and workplace progressives! My favorite are the workplace progressives lenses, but they aren’t for driving or TV, having only intermediate and reading.
