What are you looking forward to this month?
Was chatting with a friend this morning and he referred to July as “the king of months”, I said well that’s debatable.
Although, yes, how can we here in the northern hemisphere despise July? It is usually an all-around good month. But more like a Saturday than a Thursday, and I’m more prone to enjoying and basking in the anticipation of things (Thursdays) rather than the thing itself (Saturdays aka Julys). If that makes any sense.
Today is Canada Day. There are festivities happening here but I’m not sure to what extent we’ll take part. The kids and I might walk over and check it out. Staying up til midnight to watch fireworks kills me and leaves me feeling dead the next day so I’m not sure that I will.
On Friday, Clint, Sid and I are going to Wekusko Falls to camp for a few days. It’s about two and a half hours southwest of here.
I don’t like camping. It’s one of those things you do for your kids, to give them some good memories. We’ll be sleeping in a tent, on cots.
I booked an electric site so that we can at least plug things in; a loud fan for white noise/air movement while we sleep, my curling iron so I can do my hair, etc.
It’s supposed to be quite rainy while we’re there so I’m expecting a bad mosquito situation, ughh.
I am looking forward to campfire meals though, especially because Clint will do the majority of the cooking. Sid is going to love the whole experience and that’s all that matters.
While I won’t get a bubble bath every night, there are loonie showers there so we will get to shower before bed, thank goodness.
For the rest of July, I don’t have any other plans. I do need to go and see my parents at some point although there is currently major flooding down there and most of the roads are closed.
If I end up taking the kids on a vacation, we’ll do that in August.
