On the fence

I still can’t decide if I love or hate camping. I’m on the fence.

Sid really loves it and he is the reason I decided we should do this, to make some memories for him. Quality time with Mom ā€˜n Dad, (we left the big kids at home).

It’s so funny how a five year old just innately knows that when you arrive at a campground, biking all around is the thing kids do.

So is sitting on the ground and ā€œdigging for goldā€ with Dad’s extra tent spikes and pegs and a little wooden hammer he just happened to bring from home.

It’s like kids were made for this. For being feral.

You should see what a pro he is at making smores!

I’m doing this for him, as I do most everything, so if he loves it, I’ll have to enjoy it too.

But man will I be glad to get home tomorrow.

Were you ever actually on the beach if you didn’t leave your name in the sand?!

      2. I felt bad complaining in the morning about the crappy sleeps i had on the cot, i always think about the hundreds of nights people slept, starving and cold on hard wooden bunks in concentration camps during WWII…no mattresses or pillows or blankets….or people in the military today who sleep on canvas cots…i’m such a wimp

  10. I see the mosquito, it’s on your shoulder? It was the perfect beach day and you took a perfect picture of a child carefree and having fun. His smile is so genuine it almost makes you want to cry. That’s a photo contest worthy picture.

    1. Aww thank you Michael, yes he loved the beach so much! Just pure fun. Imagine being just so carefree hey?! I’m happy he liked it.
Yes, damn mosquito in the pic lol, funny thing is, I actually expected the bug situation to be worse, considering it rained while we were there, and they love coming out after the rain AND there was barely a sniff of wind and well that’s perfect mosquito conditions.
