We can all breathe again

Who would you like to see in concert?

First of all, YAY!! Congratulations to all of the sane and intelligent people in the United States who made what happened yesterday, happen. It’s such a load off. Feels like such a relief, even from way, way, way up here where I am. I can’t imagine the happiness for those who live in the thick of it.

My faith in humans is restored.

I completed my council training yesterday at City Hall. So utterly stoked to get started and try and achieve what we can. Our first council meeting and the swearing-in is Monday evening.

To the prompt, I’m really not much of a concert-goer. I know that sounds super lame. But it’s just really not my jam. At least not the type where I imagine most people are slightly intoxicated, standing up, singing, yelling, etc.

Our city is not large enough to house many concerts and because we’re so remote and isolated, artists probably wouldn’t travel all this way, even if we had the venue.

The Winnipeg Chamber Orchestra came two winters ago and put on a concert in the Letkeman Theatre at the high school and Bella-Lena and I went. I really enjoyed that. I would definitely do that again.

In terms of big concerts, if I can think of one band I’d like to see live it would be Eagles.

The day after the election last week, a CBC reporter messaged to ask if I would do an on-camera interview, they played part of it on the 6 pm news that night, so embarrassing lol

  2. Yeah,

I mean I knew people were passed off, but some of the states that turned blue had ALWAYS been red.

Texas was a huge win. People that couldn’t afford California have been moving there in droves for the last decade. I think Texas now has a population of 32 million, making it the 2nd most populace state in America.

As for who to see in concert, you know, I’ve never seen the Eagles live; or Don Henley for that matter.

However, I did see the guy that wrote some of their songs and Glen Frye’s. Don’t remember his name, but he had a hit in the 90’s called ‘Rock A Bye’.

Iwona and I DID just see the B-52’s and Devo down in Chula Vista this last Friday, October 30th. That was a lot of fun ( she won the tix off the radio).

Congratulations again on your political office. Sounds like your town is pretty far up there. Is it north of Edmonton?
